RI Staff Attorney

We are seeking an experienced real estate attorney who is highly competent in all aspects of residential purchase money loan processes with an emphasis on reviewing purchase and sale agreements, examining titles for insurability, client communication and closing the loan.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong competency in the skills above and proven success in relating well to buyers, sellers, realtors, attorneys and co-workers. We prefer at least five (5) years’ experience, and for an exceptional candidate, we would consider less. Leadership or management experience is a plus, as well as candidates with portable relationships. Experience with commercial real estate transactions also helpful but not required. The successful candidate would report to our main office in Providence, and will need to be mobile as most of our closings are outside our office. Licensed in MA and RI is required.

Summary of Essential Duties:

• Preparation and review of sales contracts and related documents, and negotiation of terms, where needed, with parties to the transaction.
• Performing title searches and examination of titles, as well as determining insurability and curing title defects, where necessary.
• Communicating with buyers, sellers, realtors, lenders and attorneys, as necessary, on any matters related to the transaction.
• Ensure files close in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Ensuring the accuracy of loan closing documents as well as fees and charges.
• Comply with all security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of confidential information, including but not limited to NPPI (non-public private information).
• Responsible to report any security incident, violation or act of non-compliance with company’s security policies and procedures to managers, IT staff, or senior leadership team members.
• Develop and maintain excellent producing relationships with referral sources (lenders, loan officers, realtors).
